When playing a video for the first time Norton Antivirus reports that “CoupleBox.exe” is attempting to access the internet.

This message is triggered by the Windows Media Player (which CB uses) going out to the internet to get the right codec or updates to play your video. You should allow this connection so that your media player can be updated.   When Windows has updated the player it the video may play immediately or require you to exit CoupleBox and restart.  After the updates are made you should not see this message again.

After entering my password I get a message saying 'Protection Error - Debugger detected'.

This can be caused by a couple of things, but most likely it is because you are using Nero DVD software. Nero installs a small piece of codec software on your machine that uses a form of protection that prevents many high level applications like CoupleBox from running. To fix this and start using CoupleBox you need to temporarily disable the Nero codec. That is done by locating a file called nevideo.ax (usually in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter) and then changing its name to something like nevideo.Lax. CB should now run just fine. To restore the Nero file just put its name back as before. This problem was reported for Version 2.02 of Nero and we'll look into whether later versions solve this. If you want more help problem on this then file a support request.

I am using Norton Anti-virus and CoupleBox seems to be running very slowly.

This is usually caused by Norton Antivirus being configured to scan a file every time that CB writes to your hard-disk. You can correct this by going to the Antivirus options > AutoProtect. Then under the heading of 'Which type of files to select' select the radio button for 'Scan files using SmartScan'. If the option 'Comprehensive file scanning' was previously selected you should see a big speed boost.
